TxDOT US 290 Solar Panel Camera Supports (client: Ameresco Solar)
Structural for multiple support locations of solar powered camera supports along the US290 corridor in western Harris County.
BASF Substation (client: Power Quality Engineering)
Structural design for substation expansion including 60ft high steel "A" frame for 10K horizontal tensile loading inside seismic zone 1 on a 12 acre site. Other structures designed range from 25ft to 50ft high supports including lightning arrestors and grounding pads. Foundation designs included large transformer with 7000 gallon environmental containment and a steel framed support for modular designed 1000sqf control building. Challenges included construct-ability constraints of no welding on site, individual segments designed for transportation without escorts, and planning for duplicate expansion in near future. Construction coordination ensured accurate installations.
Port Isabel, Tx Ship Yard and Pipe Manufacturing Facility for Subsea 7 (client: Onyx Engineering)
Design/Build for Structural Design and Site Engineering for this 35 Acre manufacturing facility and docking berth. The project included structural for manufacturing Building and Equipment Foundations/Support structures, pipe storage areas with HazMat considerations, and berth expansion of 350ft wharf area. Site civil engineering included various utilities, construction monitoring and quality controls officer. On-going estimate of cost including alternative evaluation for cost efficiencies. Construction participation to accommodate field modifications with the goal of budget management.
Ingalls Ship Yard Expansion (IE)
Design and on-site engineering for this 25 acre expansion of the existing ship yard. Structural designs included bomb proof CMU buildings, fire walls, and equipment supports. Site work included utilities, grading, storm water collection and construction phase coordination. On-going budget management for field adjustments were included.
Karbach Brewery Houston, Texas (client: Bocci Engineering)
Design/Build renovation of existing warehouse to install food level facilities. Project included building structural modifications, inter utility upgrades, floor grading adjustment, exterior warehouse truck loading/unloading bays, parking lot(s), roadway access, and equipment supports. Flooring of the warehouse was raised with food grade coatings and interior drainage to exterior traps. Also included were acquisition of permits.
